Research & Technology Development for Earth & Space

Lucidian is interested in the way in which climate change will influence the future of resource and energy use, and the ways in which it will stress human civilization. We operate under the assumption that climate change is already in progress and that technological advancement for adaptation is urgently required. Significant climate change would pose grave challenges for many places in the world and advanced information is therefore vital. Lucidian is particularly interested in models and forecasts of climate change as well as emerging technologies in response to the challenges of climate change. Consistent with our interest in space, we are also researching the way in which space development might provide options to monitor & combat the influence of climate change on our global community.

A primary interest of Lucidian research is in space related science, research, & technology development with a focus on space resource acquisition and the human colonization & settlement of space. As the human population expands, and increasing numbers of that population occupy more developed societies, our Earthly resources will become too scarce. Lucidian is interested in the way in which our expansion into space will transition from one of pure scientific exploration to one of commerce, development, and settlement. As humanity is increasingly challenged with resource acquisition on Earth due to declining supplies and political complications, space based resources are becoming financially viable options. Further, as the current space industry sees a second boom growing globally, launch & lift technology and related technologies (like robotics) will drastically reduce the cost of accessing space. We believe the time for humanity to look beyond Earth for resources and habitation is now and we seek to accelerate that process.

Lucidian Scientific believes that public outreach and inclusion is a critical mechanism for supporting our industry through encouraging young people to pursue science careers and by allowing the public to both understand scientific efforts and share in the excitement of discovery. Doing so also fosters a more positive view of space efforts and encourages funding toward increased development.
